Elite Athletes

Elite athletes are coached by BRC Head Coach and Gait Analysis Director Joe McConkey, in conjunction with feedback and consults with other members of the BRC team, including Renato Canova (programming), Carol Sullivan (nutrition), Sarah Walker (strength and conditioning), Courtney Scharneck (massage), and Dr. Michael Velsmid (physical therapy).

Boston Running Center Sponsored Athlete Program

A BRC sponsorship is ideal for a competitive runner in the following scenario:
  • Lives in New England
  • Has work or support already in place
  • Is looking for a elite-level guidance with a full support team

Sponsorship benefits:
  • coaching – unlimited phone, email, and one-on-one coaching sessions
  • massage therapy sessions
  • nutrition counseling
  • strength & conditioning sessions
  • video gait analysis and regular check-in session
  • paid travel, housing and meals for 2 national competitions per year, and 50% funding for 1 international competition per year
  • BRC training apparel and shoe/apparel stipend

Sponsorship elegibility requirements:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Performance standards with-in the last 12 months that are at or below current national championship qualifying standards as posted on http://www.usatf.org/Events---Calendar/National-Championships.aspx
  • Availability to train is appropriate for elite level training

Sponsored athlete requirements:
  • 1-2 hrs/week of administrative duties for BRC (work from home is possible)
  • Assist in occasional race event tables or other marketing events (2-3 days/year)
  • Participate in at least 3 local new england races per year
  • Represent BRC with professionalism and enthusiasm!
