I started swimming when I was a little kid in Columbus, Ohio. I am a High School All-American, 5 time NCAA All-American in swimming, rowed 2 years of varsity crew in college...Spent 4 years as an amateur triathlete while working full-time...Turned professional in 2005... Have 2 top 10 Ironman performances (6th place IM Malaysia 2006, 10th place IM Western Australia 2005), 3rd at ITU Long Distnace Pan-American Games 2006, 20th place at ITU Long Distance World Championships 2006...Ranked 8th in the world for ITU Long Distance in 2006. In addition to being a professional triathlete, I work as a personal trainer, triathlon, swim, bike, and run coach, and coach Masters and kids swimming at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach, CA. Ruthy provides very detailed and highly personalized training schedules to her clients, communicating with them throughout the week. She is also a professional triathlete and travels throughout the world for competitions and conducts most of her own training in San Diego. For these reasons she is only available for internet/email/phone coaching. This limitation, however, is easily compensated by the care and effectiveness of her coaching.
